Students/Parents Check Out This Unique Educational Opportunity
A Partnership between Chandler Unified School District and Chandler-Gilbert Community College, Chandler Early College (CEC) is designed for students who are motivated and driven to obtain a college education while securing their high school diploma. CEC offers the ability to take high school and college courses at the same time and on the same campus. CEC also provides a program of study that allows students to complete up to 30 college credits while still in high school. This unique partnership offers each CEC student the opportunity to participate in college life as well as focus on their high school course in a supportive and individualized environment. A CEC student:
- Is a capable and motivated high school students
- Possesses the maturity and the independence of being a high school student on a college campus
- Is interested in being part of a unique learning community
Successful admission to the program includes:
- CEC application
- Committee interview
- CEC Reference form
- Parent Involvement form
Open Monday thru Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Students will attend one of the two schedules:
7:15 AM – 12:15 PM OR 10:15 AM – 3:15 PM Daily attendance is mandatory. Students at CEC are working toward success. Attendance is key in showing dedication and perseverance.
College tuition and books are the financial responsibility of the student although financial assistance may be available. Students may choose to enroll in additional college classes with committee approval. CEC has an open-enrollment policy, which also allows students to transfer from Chandler high schools mid-semester.
