Congratulations to Arthi Satyanarayanon her election to Girls Nation.

Five Hamilton girls attended Girls State at the UofA this summer along with approximately 300 other Arizona students. Arthi is one of 98 young women who will now represent over 25,000 American Legion Auxiliary Girls State delegates from across the nation in Washington, D.C. the week of July 24th. Girls Nation Senate is based on actual Senate procedure and on the Constitution of the U.S. including the debate of bills, organizing political parties and electing federal officials.

The American Legion Auxiliary has sponsored this highly respected program since 1947. During the weeklong trip to Washington, D.C., Arthi will also have an opportunity to visit monuments, the Changing of the Guard at Arlington National Cemetery, Capitol Hill to visit Senators Kyl and McCain, and possibly the White House to meet the President. Hamilton is very proud of Arthi, and appreciative of the American Legion Auxiliary for sponsoring this all-expenses-paid oportunity for students to experience our principles of government.
