HAMILTON HIGH SCHOOL
ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT

WELCOME

On behalf of the HHS Athletic Department, WELCOME to Hamilton High School.

HHS has developed a successful record of achievement for interscholastic sports programs – from the Fiesta Region championship won by our 2000 Boys Tennis team to the 5A State Championships for Spiritline four consecutive years and the State Championships for Baseball and Football.  Many of our athletes have earned scholarships to Division I athletic programs all over the country.

We would like to introduce our AIA 5A program to you.  We invite you to become part of our tradition by trying out for one of our teams and/or becoming an active supporter of our programs by attending our wide variety of athletic competitions.

OUR CAMPUS

The Athletic Office is located in A117 near the attendance office.  Jerry Loper Stadium seats over 6,000 people and is the site for football, soccer games and track events.  Dale Hancock Gymnasium is the home for all HHS indoor athletic events including boys and girls basketball and volleyball games with a seating capacity of 3,000.  In addition, our baseball and softball teams have separate stadiums and practice fields.  HHS students have access to two weight rooms, one on the main campus and the other located at the fieldhouse adjacent to Loper Stadium.  Hamilton Aquatic Center consists of a heated pool, diving area and locker rooms.

CONFERENCE MEMBERSHIP

HHS is a member of the Fiesta Region.  Region schools include Gilbert, Highland, Mesquite, and cross-town rival Chandler High School.  The Fiesta Region sponsors regular season conference competition and post-season championships in all various sports.  Participation in State Championships is usually determined by performance (team and/or individual) in region championships.

PARTICIPATION / TRYOUTS

All the sports programs encourage students to tryout for positions on the teams and feel strongly that participation in interscholastic athletics can be an integral part of the high school experience.  Securing a position on some of our teams is more difficult than others depending on factors such as the size of the team and let level of competitiveness of students trying out for a particular sport.

Before participation in any athletic activity within our Athletic Department, the Chandler Unified School District Athletic Eligibility Packet must be completed which includes the following:

1.      Clearance Checklist

2.      Physical Examination/Evaluation

3.      Athletic Insurance/Emergency Card (orange card)

4.     Random Student Drug Testing Consent Form

5.      Consents and Policies Form

6.      Code of Conduct Student/Parent Form

7.      AIA Eligibility Rules

*ALL FORMS MUST BE SIGNED BY A PARENT/GUARDIAN AND RETURNED TO THE COACH OF THE SPORT YOU ARE TRYING OUT FOR BEFORE YOU CAN PARTICIPATE IN TRYOUTS.
